A researcher from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) undergoing dialysis died after engaging in a scuffle with neighbour regarding parking their vehicles in Punjab's Mohali.paijoga
The deceased, identified as Abhishek Swarnkar was pushed to the ground by his neighbour Monty who objected to his motorbike parking and reportedly said, "Tu complain karega?" during their scuffle on the night on March 11.
According to PTI, a scuffle soon dragged into a fight and Swarnkar fell on the road. A CCTV footage captured the fight scene between the two which showed that Monty charged at the researcher who was still on the ground but he quickly pulled away.
By then more people had gathered at the site of the incident and with the help of some people, Swarnkar got up from the ground but collapsed again and was taken to the hospital immediately.
The police told PTI that the accused himself took the victim to the hospital but the authorities soon revealed that he was brought dead.
IISER expressed their condolences over his death and said, “We have lost a brilliant mind. Such an act of violence is unacceptable and strict action should be taken against the accused."
Police said Swarnkar was undergoing dialysis as he was suffering from a kidney problem. He hailed from Jharkhand and was staying in a rented accommodation in Mohali with his parents. He was a researcher at IISER, Mohali.

Victim's mother Malti Devi spoke to NDTV and said, "They regularly bothered us, don't park here, don't park there. He (Abhishek) returned from IISER (that night) and parked his bike. They asked him to remove it and there was an argument. My son came upstairs. And they shouted, 'We will blow up the bike'. I told them, 'It is in front of you, blow it up'. My son got agitated. My husband was downstairs and was talking to them. My son went downstairs. He moved his bike to show them how difficult it would be to take it out if he parked where they wanted him to."
She added that during the fight, the accused shouted at her son saying, "'Tu complain karega?' and pushed him hard."
"My son was a patient. We took him to the hospital. They said he had died," she added.
Mohali Police Station Phase-11 Station House Officer Gagandeep Singh said a case under Section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against the accused.
Police said the accused was absconding and efforts were on to nab him.paijoga
